The area of the Czech Republic comprises three historical parts: Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia. Each of them has retained its specific character. At present the Czech Republic is divided into 14 regions. The capital of the Czech Republic is Prague. Other large cities are Brno, Ostrava, Plzeň, Olomouc and Liberec.
The economy of the country is doing very well at the moment, the standard of living has been growing steadily over the past 15 or so years. The Czech Republic was formally established in 1993 when Czechoslovakia was peacefully divided into two states – The Czech Republic and Slovakia. The fact that he country is so young certainly does not mean that its history is not interesting. On the contrary. The area was already settled in the primeval times and, thanks to its location, it later became a strategic crossroad for the whole of Europe for more than a thousand years.
The Czech Republic is a country of castles and chateaus, beautiful historical towns, cathedrals, temples, monastries and churches. Altogether 12 places have so far been enlisted in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The capital Prague belongs among the most beautiful and most visited cities in the whole world.

The country is a paradise for skiers, climbers, hikers as well as water or bike lovers.
