The settlement was established even before the first Slavs arrived in this area in the 5th century. It was abandoned in the 11th century when the administrative centre was moved to Poland. Nowadays it is one of the most significant archeological localities in the whole country. A great number of precious items have been found here, such as fortification remnants, ceramic splinters, metal instruments and coins. The whole complex is now undergoing a thorough excavation which should be finished in 2010. The open-air museum is open to public from April to October.
